About Jones Bros It's a family affair
History of Jones Bros Ltd
Jones Bros Ltd was founded by the Jones family in 1908. It continues to be a family owned business.
We have represented many world class brands and pride ourselves in their success. Harley Davidson motorcycles and Raleigh bicycles are two major brand successes in our proud history.
We have been an importer and distributor of Snow Equipment since 1952. Agencies over the years have included Kastle, Tyrolia, Dynamic and Fischer. Some brands have been represented for over 40 years. Snowsports continues to be a major division of Jones Bros Ltd today.
In 1986 we procured the Titleist and Footjoy agencies, successfully promoting and distributing their premium golf products for 16 years.
2003 saw Jones Bros Ltd invest in the Health and Fitness market with the design and distribution of our own fitness brand LA Fitness. LA Fitness has continued to grow through sales to independent sporting outlets since 2003 and in 2004 we opened our LA Fitness Showroom and Hire Outlet in Petone, Wellington.
In 2016 we decided to move back to our skiing roots and relocated to Ohakune. With an office only 18kms from Turoa ski field and in the heart of the North Island ski industry we are truly at the coal face of the market.

Sean Drinkwater
Managing Director and Sales
- Having grown up in the shadow of Mt Ruapehu my first passion is skiing. I love family, mountain biking, socialising and travel.
- Working in the industry since 1988 (with 10 of those years working in NZ and overseas retail) has given me the desire to represent great brands that hopefully benefit all who come into contact with them – from the factory to the user!
- Working with a great team, in industry's we are passionate about, I am proud to represent the quality brands that we distribute.
- My goal is run a successful business, enjoy life and have fun doing everything. Let me know if I can help you in any way.
Gareth McGuigan
Operations Manager
- Having been a member of the team for since 2008 I now run the day to day operations for Jones Brothers
- This involves overseeing the Ohakune warehouse operations as well as dealing with our suppliers to provide you the best quality products and service at an affordable price.
- I enjoy all sports, particularly Rugby, League, Motor Sports and Golf.
- Relocating to Ohakune has created the opportunity to embrace the outdoors.
- My current goal is to improve my general health and fitness.
Brett Harper
Sales Manager
- I started skiing when I was 3yrs old and been hooked with the sport, the culture and the snow ever since!
- Achieving a Sponsored Freestyle Athlete and Ski Instructing position, along with a Diploma of Sport and Recreation, gave me the knowledge, passion and drive to want to align myself within the ski industry.
- I enjoy being part of a great team that represents some of the world's most advanced and popular brands.
- My goals are to work hard, play hard, and have as much fun as possible along the way.
Sarah Drinkwater
CFO and Office Manager
- Moving to Ohakune at a young age, having family, friends and a community with a passion for all things skiing related has meant I was lucky enough to grow up surrounded by the outdoors, the mountains and the snow.
- I've been with Jones Bros on and off and in varying roles since 2001 ('off' to have my 3 gorgeous girls and briefly teach at Primary school level) and have been back full-time since 2015, putting my Finance and Accounting degree to work running the office and accounts for our amazing team.
- My loves in life are spending time with family and friends, skiing and squash, reading the odd book, cooking and spending time in our beautiful NZ outdoors.
Kristy Deadman
Admin and Sales Support
- Ruapehu is my home – after a brief stint of moving away to study, chase winter seasons and live overseas I have resettled in the area, gotten married to my husband Sam and raised our two boys Bodie and Jasper.
- My work background is vast from hospitality to administration in the corporate world, retail customer service (both in the snow industry and otherwise) and graphic design and marketing.
- I developed a passion for running and fitness after having my second son and this has branched off into completing my personal training certificate and dabbling in many running events.
- Working for Jones Bros has fitted in perfectly with the ever-changing seasons of motherhood and life in general. I am enjoying learning new skills as well as bringing in expertise I have gained from other roles. When I am not here, I am able to put my new passion as a personal trainer to work part time at the local gym and of course - run around after my two sons which is always my number one focus.
- What fun looks like to me – recreational activities with my family, mountain biking, walks/hikes, camping and trips to the lake. I also love a solo run in the Ruapehu outdoors and hitting the gym to work on my own fitness and expand my knowledge.
